In short
Porro watches your clients’ websites and tells you what needs attention. You pay monthly or yearly, you can leave whenever you like, and your data is yours. We only touch a client’s systems in the ways you switch on, and we never merge, push to a main branch or deploy. The full terms are below.
01
Who we are
Porro is a trading name of 1994 Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13301586, VAT number GB 376 8397 34). Our registered office is Mountbatten House, 1 Grosvenor Square, Southampton SO15 2JU. “We”, “us” and “Porro” mean 1994 Limited.
“You” means the business that creates a Porro workspace, and anyone you invite into it. You need to be using Porro for business, not as a consumer, and the person accepting these terms must be allowed to bind that business.

02
The service
Porro is a site operations dashboard for agencies and freelancers. Depending on your plan and what you connect, it:
- checks your sites from outside (uptime, response, SSL certificates, domains) from the regions you choose;
- receives signed reports from our open-source connectors installed on your sites (versions, packages, health);
- tells you about outages, advisories and end-of-life software by email, Slack and webhook;
- opens pull requests on repositories you connect, to add a connector or update packages;
- sends reports to your clients’ contacts when you ask it to.
We’ll keep improving Porro, which means features will change. If we remove something you’re paying for, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before and you can cancel with a pro-rata refund for the unused time.
03
Your account
- Every member signs in with two-factor authentication. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has them.
- Workspace owners decide who’s invited and what role they have (owner, admin or member). You’re responsible for what people in your workspace do in it.
- You must give us accurate details and keep your billing email up to date.
04
What Porro does to your sites and systems
Porro is read-only unless you connect something that lets it act. When you do, here’s exactly what it can do:
| Connected | What Porro can do |
|---|---|
| Outside checks | Ordinary HTTPS requests identified as PorroBot/1.0. Don’t point checks at sites you don’t have the right to monitor. |
| Connectors | Only send. Porro never connects into a site and can’t send it commands. |
| GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket | Opens pull requests on branches it creates. It never pushes to a main branch, never merges and never deploys. You review and merge. |
| Forge | Can add PORRO_KEY to a site’s environment, add one line to its deploy script, and, only when you start it, update a server’s PHP version within the same major version for a security release. |
| Ploi, Laravel Cloud | Read-only, used to list sites for import. |
Update pull requests never cross a major version. You’re responsible for reviewing, testing and merging any change, and for having backups. We aren’t liable for a change you merge or deploy.
You can disconnect any integration from Settings at any time.
05
Plans, trials and payment
- Trial. New workspaces get a 28-day trial with Studio features. No card needed. When it ends, the workspace becomes read-only (no checks or alerts) until you choose a plan.
- Prices. Prices are on porro.dev/pricing, in pounds sterling, excluding VAT. Yearly plans cost ten months’ worth.
- Who you pay. Payments for Porro plans are taken by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and handles card details, receipts, VAT and sales tax. Stripe’s terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your card number.
- Extra sites and regions. If you go over your plan’s sites, extra sites are charged at your plan’s per-site price, pro rata for the rest of the billing period. Extra check regions are charged per site per region per month.
- Renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel.
- Price changes. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies to you. It applies from your next renewal after the notice.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, you have 7 days to fix it. After that the workspace becomes read-only until it’s paid.
- Refunds. You can cancel at any time and keep using your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t refund the current period, except where these terms or the law say otherwise. If a payment is refunded in full or reversed by a dispute, the plan ends straight away.
- Enterprise. Enterprise plans are on a signed contract. Where that contract and these terms differ, the contract wins.
06
Using Porro properly
Don’t use Porro to:
- monitor, probe or load-test sites you don’t own or manage, or haven’t been asked to look after;
- try to get into another workspace, our systems or anyone else’s;
- overload the service or get round plan limits or rate limits;
- resell Porro as your own product without a written agreement with us;
- break the law, or anyone else’s rights.
We may suspend a check, an integration or a workspace that’s causing harm to others or breaking these terms. Unless it’s urgent, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
07
Your data
Everything you and your connectors put into Porro stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Porro for you, and as our Privacy Policy describes.
Where Porro handles personal data on your behalf, such as your clients’ contact details, we do so as your processor under the Data Processing terms in the Privacy Policy. Enterprise customers can sign a separate Data Processing Agreement.
We may use aggregated, anonymous numbers (for example, how many sites run an end-of-life PHP version) to improve Porro and in public reports. They’ll never identify you, your clients or a site.
08
Our part
- We’ll run Porro with reasonable skill and care, and keep it secure as described on our Security page.
- We aim for Porro to be available all the time, but we don’t promise it’ll never be down, and checks can miss things or raise false alarms. Porro helps you look after sites. It doesn’t replace your own judgement, backups or testing.
- Connectors are open source and provided under their own licence.
09
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.
Otherwise:
- neither of us is liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us for Porro in those 12 months.
10
Leaving
- You can cancel your plan from Billing at any time. It stops renewing and runs to the end of the paid period.
- When a workspace stops (cancelled, unpaid or a trial that ran out), it stays read-only for 90 days so you can come back or export what you need. We email owners and admins 30 days and 7 days before we delete it. After 90 days it is deleted, along with everything in it.
- You can delete a workspace yourself at any time from Settings, and it’s deleted straight away.
- We can end these terms if you seriously break them and don’t put it right within 14 days of us telling you, or straight away if you’ve broken section 6 in a way that harms others.
11
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll email workspace owners at least 30 days before it applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
12
The legal bits
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
- If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by things outside our reasonable control.
- You can’t transfer these terms without our agreement. We can transfer them to a company that takes over Porro, and we’ll tell you if we do.
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and any order or contract you sign with us are the whole agreement between us.
